Chocolate & Wine Festival Juried Art Show

Enter your art in the Chocolate & Wine Festival Juried Art Show. The show will be displayed at the Butternut Gallery in Montrose, PA. Opening is 7 - 9 PM on Friday, May 15, 2009 at the gallery. The show will be on display at the gallery from May 15th to May 31st. Monetary prizes. For more details and a Call for Entry form, contact:

$20. first entry, $10. each additional entry Each artist may submit up to three works

Jurying
Works will be juried from the original for quality, content and space

All prize winning artists will be featured in the June or July Issue of CONNECTIONS Magazine.

Categories, Requirements & Eligibility
• All media are accepted except electronic
• All work must be original / no giclees
• All work must have been completed within the past two years
• All work must be for sale
• All two dimensional work must be less than 48” in any direction, framed and wired for hanging
• All three dimensional work must weigh less than 150 lbs.; please contact the gallery if a pedestal is necessary
• All artists will be asked to sign a waiver relinquishing The Butternut Gallery & Second Story Books of responsibility for damage to work
• All artists must be 18 years old or older
• THE GALLERY IS ON THE SECOND FLOOR, PLAN ACCORDINGLY

Theme
Focus – Exploring Our Regional Sense of Place celebrates the artists´ unique perspective of the place they live.

Sales
Standard gallery commission is 30%.
Sales will be encouraged and a portion of all sales will benefit the library and hospital building funds.

Jurors
Betsy Green grew up in Montrose. PA and went on to earn a B.A. degree from Pennsylvania State University. Betsy has traveled extensively and resided in several major cities including 18 years in New York City where she worked in the music industry and the arts. She returned to PA in 2000 and has been gallery curator and company manager for six years at Lizza Studios in Tunkhannock. She and her daughter Shannon reside at Harvey’s Lake.

Kathleen Harwood is a fine art consultant, appraiser and private dealer who appears regularly as an appraiser of paintings and drawings on PBS’s Antiques Roadshow. She has been president of Harwood Fine Arts Inc. since 1990; prior to that she was associated with Christie’s Auctioneers and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She lives in Montrose.

Orazio Salati is an internationally recognized artist and owner of the Orazio Salati Studio and Gallery in Binghamton, NY. He has taught the visual arts for over 37 years. He participated in the Firenze Biennial 2003 in Italy and is an International Baccalaureate Examiner. He has recently been invited to exhibit in the Chianciano Terme Museum in Italy.

Hill Country Artists

The Hill Country Artists will again be presenting their latest works at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church on May 16th, 2009 from 3 to 7 PM. Many local artists are in this group and produce works in watercolors, pastels, acrylics, and other media. Some works on note cards will also be available. Be sure to stop in and browse.
